Dentures

Dr. White, a family dentist, can custom make state-of-the-art dentures that will look as natural as possible, even down to the fillings. Dentures are used if you’ve lost all or most of your natural teeth.

With so many advances in modern dentistry, however, fewer people need to wear full dentures. If you have older dentures or think you may need dentures, you are in luck. Denture technology has never been better. As people age, dentures can cause wearers to look older than they really are and can cause pain when chewing. We can replace worn out dentures that are natural looking and more comfortable than ever.

Complete Dentures
Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing. These are either "conventional" or "immediate." Conventional dentures are made after any remaining teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has healed (usually two to three months).

Immediate dentures are ready for wear the same day any remaining teeth are removed so you don't have to spend the healing period toothless. The drawback is that you'll need more adjustments, since your gums and bones shrink during this period.

Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain. There are two types of partial dentures, removable and fixed. A removable partial (or dental bridge) consists of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored plastic base. Removable partials are connected by a metal framework that helps keep them in place.

Fixed partial dentures replace one or more missing teeth by placing a dental crown on each tooth surrounding the space and attaching replacement teeth to the crowns. This bridge is then cemented into place.

Dentures Can Help Maintain your Youthful Appearance
Without support from the denture, facial muscles sag, making a person look older. Dentures can help you eat and speak more comfortably. Replacing missing teeth with dentures will help to improve your appearance and smile.
